On Desert Adventuring
I don't know about you, but I've always considered myself a mountain, river, lake and ocean kind of gal. I find a sense of calm—peace, even— in green, lush locales. I definitely have a pattern in terms of where I enjoy spending time and, truth be told, I've never been all that interested in exploring the desert. It's hot, dry and a bit on the brown side.
So, you can imagine my surprise when I started to fall in love with the desert landscape during the Clementine Daily staff retreat earlier this week (you can get a sampling of our collective adventures over on Instagram under #clementineretreat, if you're interested). I'll be sharing more about our trip next week, but I was struck by how okay I was to brave the heat in order to explore the oasis that is Palm Springs.
There's something so simple about the desert—what you see is what you get—and I'm pretty darn into the straightforward business of things at the moment.
I'm also excited to have opened myself up to exploring places I had shied away from in the past. Looks like we'll have to work the desert into our travel bucket list a bit more after all.

So, how do you all feel about the desert? Any places we simply must visit? I know Joshua Tree National Park is a whole lot higher on the list at this point!
